    • 2 Eggs

    Baking Spices

    • 2 cups All purpose Flour
    • 2 cups Sugar
    • 1 tsp Baking Soda
    • 2 tsp Baking Powder
    • 1/2 tsp Salt
    • 1 tbsp Vanilla Extract
    • 1/2 cup Cocoa powder

    Oils & Vinegars

    • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil

    Dairy

    • 1 cup Milk

    Liquids

    • 1 cup Hot Water

    Frosting Ingredients

      • 1 1/2 cup Softened Butter
      • 1 tbsp Heavy whipping cream

      Baking & spices

      • 1/2 cup Cocoa powder
      • 680 grams Powdered sugar
      • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

      Instructions
       

      Cake Instructions

      • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
      • Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl
      • Whisk in the milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract till smooth. Slowly add the hot water and continue mixing till smooth
      • Grease 2 9 inch pans with butter and divide the batter evenly between both pans
      • Bake for 20 minutes or until tester comes out clean
      • Cool for 10 minutes
      • Place one cake on a cake stand or serving tray. Spread about a cup of frosting on the top with a spatula. Place the other cake over and frost the top and sides of the cake.
      • Enjoy!

      Frosting Instructions

      • Cream the room temperature butter in a stand mixer with a paddle attachment. A hand mixer will work fine too
      • Sift out and add the cocoa powder, then mix until incorporated on low speed
      • Sift the powdered sugar and slowly beat in batches
      • Add the vanilla extract and heavy cream and continue mixing until you have a fluffy, even consistency.
