Hamburger Steaks with Gravy

Also known as Salisbury steak, this hamburger steak recipe is smothered in brown gravy with onions and served with mashed potatoes. This EASY ground beef recipe will sure become a family favorite!
Hamburger Steaks with Brown Gravy
Ingredients
- 1 pound Ground Beef
- 1 tbsp Olive oil
- 1/4 cup Yellow onion, diced
- 1 Yellow onion, sliced
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 Packets of brown gravy mix
- 2 cups water
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl add the ground beef, diced onions, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Using your clean hands mix together, then form the meat into patties.
- In a skillet over medium high heat, add olive oil and the sliced onions and let cook for 2-3 minutes. Move the onions to the side and add in the patties and let cook until brown and until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
- While the patties are cooking prep your gravy mix. In a medium mixing bowl add both gravy packets and water and mix together.
- Once patties are done can remove any excess grease in the skillet. Pour the gravy mixture in and let cook until thickened. ENJOY!We like to serve ours with mashed potatoes and corn.
